There are millions of aspiring soccer players out there and thousands here in Canada. However, the world of soccer can be unforgiving and even brutal at times. Not all dreamers are able to make it their career but to those who do, well, they did something not many players are doing. They trained like pros every single day of their lives.
Practice Explosive Movements
Soccer is one of the most intense sports there is. Players are required to have great stamina and endurance. It is important for players to learn how to be explosive when it comes to soccer. By explosive, we mean fast, unpredictable, and unstoppable. That might sound impossible but we assure you it is not.
Before every game or training session, make sure to do a 10 to 20 minutes workout to warm up, raise your heart rate, and stretch your muscles. This is important if you want to perform at an optimum level for the entire game.
You can start of by practicing your speed and handling by running the Flying V. Make sure to have control of your entire body when you are sprinting and that you are able to control the ball with ease.
Increase Your Stamina
Stamina is important in all sports. Stamina in soccer however is on a whole different level. You should consider stamina as your greatest attribute in soccer. Remember that in soccer, you are required to run most of the time.
Increasing your stamina will help you keep up with your opponents or better yet get ahead. Exhaustion in soccer is a weakness. It opens you up to vulnerabilities and mistakes. Most pros hop on the treadmill and run miles for hours to improve their stamina. Others even use swimming as a form of exercise for the same reason.
Establish a Workout Plan for the Body and Mind
Professional soccer players have planned and scheduled workouts. For them it is about discipline to endure workout routines no matter how hard they can get. Then they mix it up with exercises to improve their mental focus and prowess in and out of the game.
